Environment
At Ha Long Canfoco, we take environmental impacts seriously. We ensure our production facilities meet environmental standards.
We apply waste treatment measures and sustainable resource use. When planning any new project, we always calculate environmental impacts in advance, thereby developing appropriate environmental protection plans before implementing the project.
Environmental Compliance and Monitoring
Our Legal and Compliance Department, together with the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Department, are responsible for monitoring compliance with environmental regulations nationwide, as well as closely monitoring environmental laws and regulations. In addition, the technical department of each subsidiary also conducts periodic waste sample testing to monitor compliance with laws and relevant environmental regulations.

Raising Environmental Awareness
Our factories and surrounding areas are green and provide fresh air. In the retail sector, we join hands to protect the environment by implementing a series of Green solutions. The supermarket system replaces 100% plastic bags with biodegradable bags; simultaneously minimizes or replaces single-use plastic materials with environmentally friendly items.
Water Resources
At Ha Long Canfoco, protecting water resources is one of the priority issues. We invest heavily in advanced wastewater treatment systems and apply the strictest standards to monitor the impact of factory operations on the surrounding environment.
All output wastewater treatment quality test results meet Class A standards – the highest standard in Vietnam according to QCVN 40:2011 BTNMT.
We have invested in building modern wastewater treatment systems at factories. High-tech livestock farms are also invested with modern wastewater treatment systems to ensure sustainable operations comply with national environmental standards. Domestic wastewater and wastewater from the production process are collected for treatment to Class A wastewater - the strictest wastewater standard in Vietnam - before discharging into the centralized wastewater collection system.
Clean and Renewable Energy
Vietnam is a country with a long coastline, so we understand the importance of reducing carbon emissions to cope with climate change. Therefore, requirements for energy savings or efficient energy use have become more urgent than ever for businesses wishing to develop sustainably.
We train employees on the benefits of energy-saving habits by regularly cleaning machinery and equipment to achieve the best output. We apply biogas technology from rice husks and sawdust and install rooftop solar panels to generate energy for factories. This is an energy source that is not only environmentally friendly and low-cost but also helps create jobs and increase income for local people.
Social Responsibility
Ha Long Canfoco believes in improving community life in places where we establish factories and cooperate with local people.
In addition to becoming one of the largest taxpaying enterprises in provinces where factories operate, we also create jobs and help improve the lives of local people. At the same time, we have devoted part of our profits to community development through activities that help and enable individuals to overcome difficulties and rise in life.
Community Healthcare
We pay special attention to community health, especially poor patients who do not have enough conditions to afford healthcare costs for themselves. We cooperate with the Association for the Support of Poor Patients to support cataract surgeries, with an investment of more than 5 billion VND for many different surgeries.
550+ cataract surgeries were supported in 2023, as part of our sustainable commitment to community healthcare.
Educational Support Activities
Education plays an important role in poverty reduction and we have always accompanied and supported educational activities. In 2023, we launched the program 'One Million Meat Meals for Highland Children' with the goal of providing nutritional support to children in difficult areas and encouraging them to continue going to school.
Total support funding is 10 billion VND for the 2023-2024 school year, together with the Highland Poor Student Fund to bring nutritious meals to highland students, helping them have more motivation to go to school and study better.
Community Life Development
We have donated 100 billion VND to support the nationwide program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with the theme 'Warm Home for My People'. In addition, we have also quickly implemented social welfare programs, relief, and support for people affected by natural disasters and frontline forces with a total value of nearly 20 billion VND.
We believe that developing projects and infrastructure will support the less fortunate in the long term. For that reason, we invest in upgrading social infrastructure including healthcare, schools, and vocational training.
In 2023, we and our subsidiaries contributed nearly 32 billion VND to social welfare nationwide, including:
Investment of over 18 billion VND for healthcare, education, and social infrastructure development.
More than 14 billion VND for social welfare activities and relief for people affected by natural disasters.
