Following the reports broadcast on VTV1’s Vietnam Today and News programs on January 7, 2026, Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Corporation (Ha Long Canfoco) would like to respectfully provide its official statement to customers, partners, and the public to clarify and correct certain information as follows:

1. Legal Responsibility: Ha Long Canfoco as a Party Jointly Affected by the Incident

The Company affirms that the receipt of the raw material batch was based on lawful, complete, and valid documentation and quarantine certificates provided by the seller and issued by the competent authorities in accordance with applicable regulations. The seller’s act of forging documents to introduce the raw materials into circulation constituted fraudulent conduct against the Company. This matter has been acknowledged by the relevant state authorities, which have initiated criminal proceedings against the individuals involved in accordance with the law.

2. Incident Handling: Proactive, Transparent, and Thorough

The Company detected and addressed the incident in September 2025. At that time, Ha Long Canfoco proactively reported the matter and cooperated closely and transparently with the investigative authorities throughout the verification process. The Company also strictly complied with the decision to destroy the entire non-compliant raw material batch, as required and under the direct supervision of the competent state authorities.

3. Supply Chain Management

Ha Long Canfoco recognizes this as a serious supply chain incident that directly affected the Company’s reputation. We regard it as an important lesson and will continue to tighten incoming material controls, strengthen reviews, and impose stricter supplier selection criteria to ensure the safety of all products.

• Regarding products: 100% of the non-compliant raw material batch was isolated and completely destroyed. None of it entered the production lines for products supplied to the market.

• Regarding quality standards: Products currently available on the market fully comply with food hygiene and safety requirements and are subject to strict controls throughout the process, from raw material receipt to finished products.

• Regarding operations: The factory continues to maintain international food safety management certifications, including ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000. Production and business operations remain stable under the regular inspection and supervision of the relevant authorities.
